Healthlinc Apartments, Welton, Lincolnshire - Key Staff
Donna Fleming - Registered Hospital Manager
“I began my career in Health and Social care 29 years ago and have worked for Lighthouse Healthcare here at Healthlinc House since 2003. One of the things I really like about working for Lighthouse is the commitment they show to the individuals living within our services.
I first became interested in supporting people with learning disabilities when I was a volunteer for MENCAP as part of the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
As a Registered Nurse and Registered Mental Health Nurse the part of my job I enjoy the most is spending time with the people that live here in Healthlinc House and guiding others in how best to provide them with opportunities, enabling them to live as positive a life as possible.
I get a real sense of job satisfaction when I can see that the people living here are happy or have made an achievement which is important to them.”
Dr Hasit Vaidya - Consultant Psychiatrist
"My interest in biology and medicine in particular is deeply rooted and began at a very young age. I have always empathised for the disabled and infirm and I’m a very patient centred clinician keeping my patients and their relatives as a priority.
I have always been a great lover of animals and as a child cared for injured and unwell animals and wanted a career in veterinary science, but things took a different turn and I ended up being a Psychiatrist- a career I relish.
I have been a Psychiatrist for the past 30 years and within this time have worked in most sub-specialities of Psychiatry either as a trainee or as a speciality Doctor. I obtained my basic medical qualification and post graduate qualification in India and earned my MRC Psych in 2007 in the UK. Prior to my arrival at Healthlinc House I had been working for the past six years as a Psychiatrist for forensic learning disability. I am an approved DOLS assessor and I am on the list of gender specialists by the HM Courts and Tribunals Service.
I believe in the recovery orientated treatment model for my patients who generally have a severe mental illness. I have been fortunate to become a medic and care for my patients and apart from knowledge and skills which are mandatory for a Psychiatrist, I believe in the importance of attitude and values that a good Psychiatrist should have."
