Field House specialist learning disability hospital, Alfreton, Derbyshire
Field House provides specialist care for 10 men with a learning disability and complex needs such as physical and mental health issues, personality disorder and dementia, who may also have a forensic history.
Our aim is to re-register this service to become a residential care home with nursing to meet the longer term needs of our client group.
The service is staffed 24/7 by a dedicated team of registered nurses and support workers. Clinical input from psychology, SALT and psychiatry disciplines is also available as required.
The service at Field House is a pathway service configured specifically for men who have been in hospital or secure services for some time and require longer term care in a safe and supportive residential setting in the community, where their needs around their physical health and or the ageing process can be effectively met.
The aim of the service is to encourage individuals to lead a full and valued life, enabling them to live more independently through a programme of active community engagement, developing meaningful social networks, managing risk and developing robust coping strategies.

An overview of Field House
Field House is situated within walking distance of the market town of Alfreton, Derbyshire where local amenities include shops, recreational and religious facilities. The town provides a quiet local environment to enable people to engage in their care programme.
The homely service provides 10 single bedrooms with en-suite WC facilities and some with shower facilities. There are additional assisted bathrooms and toilet facilities within the home. All bedrooms have television points. Field House has a spacious and comfortable communal lounge along with a large conservatory / activity room which opens on to an enclosed garden with beautiful views over the Derbyshire countryside. Field House has a separate dining room, kitchen and a utility room with laundry facilities and a separate well equipped skills kitchen. There is also a further comfortable lounge close to the entrance where service users can meet family and friends.

About Field House
Field House is located in Alfreton, in Derbyshire within the East Midlands. Alfreton is close to motorway networks and only an hour by car from Leeds, Leicester and Stoke-on-Trent. The town is served by regular train services to/from Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield and Nottingham.
