Take a look inside our new female learning disability service in Derbyshire

We are pleased to announce that Field House in Alfreton, our new learning disability rehabilitation hospital for women is now fully operational and taking referrals.

We have just welcomed our first few admissions who are settling in well and enjoying the newly refurbished facilities.

Field House provides individually tailored assessment, treatment and rehabilitation pathways keeping lengths of stay to a minimum, and  is staffed by a dedicated team of nurses and support workers who along with the multi-disciplinary team provide a holistic, psychosocial treatment programme.

The service is able to accept patients detained under the Mental Health Act, including Restriction Orders and is available to those who are:

  • Stepping down from secure care and require a period of rehabilitation before moving into the community

  • Are currently living in the community who due to crisis require a period of rehabilitation to enable them to return back to their home environment

  • Wanting to move to a hospital closer to their home area

The aim of the service is to allow women to engage in a treatment and rehabilitation programme to enable them to move on successfully into the community within identified timescales.

The structured person centred programme of care delivered within a small, homely environment in the heart of the community in Alfreton allows women to actively engage and participate in the community, developing meaningful social networks, managing risk and developing robust coping strategies.

If you are currently working with someone you think would benefit from the rehabilitation pathway and environment at Field House please do get in touch with us to discuss and arrange a referral.
