Sara scoops national VdT MoCA award for Occupational Therapy Support Workers
In 2016 Sara Norman (Therapy Assistant at Ballington House in Leek) won the Vona du Toit Model of Creative Ability (VdT MoCA) Foundation (UK) Award for Occupational Therapy Support Workers.
This award is for occupational therapy support workers that have been nominated by qualified and unqualified colleagues to receive recognition for making a significant contribution to developing the use of the VdT Model of Creative Ability within their clinical work setting.
The prize was money towards introductory training in the VdT MoCA OT model that was already being used at Ballington House. Sara was formally presented with the award at the biennial VdT MoCA foundation conference in London on 18th July 2017.
Sarah Pritchard, Occupational Therapist at Ballington House said "Sara, Heather Clarke- Lewis (OT at Woodhouse Hospital) and myself attended the conference which was a fantastic opportunity to hear about the latest research into the model, attend workshops about specific aspects and network with other OT colleagues from across the country. The day gave us lots of ideas of ways to develop our OT services further and provided lots of food for thought for the coming months!"Back
