Lighthouse Healthcare is an organisation with hospitals and homes for people with learning disabilities and mental health problems.
What do we do?
We make sure that people are given a chance to improve their lifestyle.
We try to make people feel at home when they are with us.
We employ friendly consultants, doctors , nurses and other staff to treat people and to care for them.
We help people to learn new skills. We encourage people to take part in interesting and fun activities.
We help people to learn to make new friends and to live in the community.

We have hospitals and homes in the east and west of England and in Wales.

What are our hospitals and homes like?
We have different types of hospitals. Some have apartments or cottages where people live together in small groups.
We have houses in the community where our staffs look after small groups of people who live together.
Living in these homes helps people to get ready to live more independently.
All the people in our hospitals and homes have their own bedrooms and most of them have their own bathrooms.
Our hospitals and homes have lots of community areas. We have lounges with televisions, dining rooms and kitchens. We also have nice gardens and outdoor areas.
We try to make our hospitals and homes as comfortable and homely as we can.
What do people do in our hospitals and homes?
People are in our hospitals and homes because they need us to help them to be able to enjoy a better life. Some people may feel unwell and we help them to get better.
While people are with us they have lots of choice about what they do and where they go. Some people attend their local college. Some people like to go shopping or to go on outings. Some people have hobbies like art, music or gardening. Some people like to have their family or careers and friends visit them.
